BIOGRAFÍA

César Patrone nació en San Martín -Provincia de Buenos Aires- Argentina.


Inicio sus estudios en la Escuela de Bellas Artes de Paris en 1936.


Una década mas tarde tomo las primeras nociones de la elaborada técnica que define a las lacas bizantinas del imaginero chileno Valdes Mujica, radicado por entonces en Argentina.


Desde entonces trabaja incansablemente en la recreación de un arte pictórico antiguo como espléndido, logrando maravillosas imágenes religiosas -iconografías- en una lucida y estilizada interpretación de aquellos motives. Los iconos de la vieja ortodoxia; las tablas del periodo bizantino; los dibujos y coloridos persas; las filigranas en bajo relieve del arte gótico; aquellas miniaturas y caligrafías sutiles de oros, azules y rojos, fijos en los misales del medioevo; la ingenuidad graciosa de simples líneas decorativas en los mas antiguos retablos..., todo ello y además el caudal de reliquias americanas en los templos, tan indios como españoles, se van decantado y enriquecido en este logro moderno del laquista Cesar Patrone.


En su larga trayectoria este laborioso artista ha expuesto sus obras con singular éxito de critica en las más importantes galenas de arte de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, en varias ciudades y capitales del interior del país así como de países limítrofes.


 


HISTORIA


ARTE BIZANTINO


Los iconos son la representación pictórica de la Virgen, Jesucristo y los Santos que veneran y reverencian en la iglesia ortodoxa de los países de Este de Europa, esencialmente Grecia y Rusia.


Estas representaciones datan de los mismos orígenes del Cristianismo y sus inicios se remontan a las imágenes conmemorativas del final de la Antigüedad.


Al tiempo de la creación del Bajo Imperio de Oriente, resultado del desmembramiento del imperio romano que comenzó cuando Constantino el Grande inicia en 330 el traslado de la corte a Bizancio (mas tarde Constantinopla, hoy Estambul) se desarrolla lo que se ha dado en llamar arte bizantino. Este suntuoso arte tuvo su máximo esplendor en el imperio de Justiniano I (527-565) .Se distingue su estilo por la riqueza de sus adornos filigranados y las soberbias vestiduras de las imágenes. En los rostros se destacan sus grandes ojos y la expresion de místico recogimiento.


En 1204 Constantinopla fue conquistada por los ejércitos de la IV Cruzada que la convirtieron en capital del imperio latino. Los pintores de iconos apenas consiguieron seguir con su auge, por cuya razón se ve en esa fecha de 1204 el final de la época bizantina media para comenzar difusamente el sincretismo imaginero que caracteriza a la Edad Media occidental. Dos siglos y medio mas tarde (1453) con la caída de Constantinopla a manos de los turcos provenientes de Asia Central, la pintura de los iconos sobrevivió ya que Bizancio había propagado su influencia también a grandes regiones de Oriente. Así Rusia se convirti6 en el mayor exponente del arte bizantino. Inevitablemente los pintores rusos fueron imprimiendo su propio estilo que los diferencia de la corriente de influencia que se extiende al Oeste; especialmente respecto a los rasgos de los personajes y al colorido que se torna claro, casi radiante, pero no en cuanto a la temática que sigue representando imágenes y escenas de carácter religioso cristiano.

Bear in mind we are dealing with works of art, so they may be in an exhibition (actually, this is awesome!). Those artworks which are in an exhibition are usually displayed as “non-available”. In case the artwork has been put up for sale, take into account the artist would have to manage with the organization of the exhibition the return of the artwork in order to be able to realize the shipment.
